Local author, Amy Arnold, at Emma’s Dell
We are very pleased to be hosting an evening with local author, Amy Arnold, who will be talking about her debut novel, Slip of a Fish. Her book is a lyrical, playful and complex literary novel set against a backdrop of hills, ghylls and lakes. Weaving together glimpses of a long hot summer, the novel addresses language, sexuality, memory, swimming and the natural world as fraught descriptions of power and relationships are at the heart of the plot. The book has been published by And Other Stories after it was selected as winner of the Northern Book Prize. Amy will be visiting Emma’s Dell at the invitation of Sam Read Bookseller in Grasmere on Friday 9th November, just one week after publication of her novel. Join us from 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Admission is free, but you are encouraged to register interest in attending by clicking on the Eventbrite link below.
